How Air Conditioning Works
The air conditioning units work in cooling mode by removing heat energy from the air within your home and sending this to the outdoor unit to expel. The process involves evaporation, compression, condensation, and expansion to ensure continuous cooling cycle is maintained using an Fgas product within a sealed system.

Why Choose an Air Conditioning unit Over a Gas Boiler?
Switching away from a gas boiler can feel like a big step, especially when it’s something you’ve relied on for years. But air conditioning systems are a well‑proven technology, used in homes and workplaces for decades. BUS Scheme Available Government Grants
Redbridge has been installing heat pumps for many years and this includes managing the Government BUS (Boiler upgrade Scheme) grant funding for our customers. It was announced recently that Air conditioning installations would also be eligible for grants late in 2026. Once this is in place from OFGEM then Redbridge will be able to assist our customers in attaining the grant funding if you are eligible. More announcements will follow later this year.Â

Yes. They can do both. Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric systems are heat pumps, so they cool your home in summer and heat it in winter. In warmer weather, they pull heat out of the room and send it outside. When it’s cold, they reverse the process and bring heat indoors. It means you only need one system all year round.
Both Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric are known for their remarkably quiet operation. Daikin systems can run as low as 19dB, which is comparable to a whispered conversation, making them well suited to bedrooms and quiet working environments. Mitsubishi Electric models offer a Comfort mode on many units, which softens the airflow and reduces noise levels further. With both manufacturers people don’t notice them running at all.
