Suitable for Most Homes

Well-insulated homes: ASHPs are most efficient in homes with good insulation levels and minimal drafts, since they provide lower flow-temperature heat compared to gas or oil boilers.
Mild to moderate climates: They work efficiently even in cold weather, but their performance can drop in very cold climates (below -25°C). Redbridge Property Services ensures we design and install with the correct model ASHP for your property, so they will work down to -25°C.
Homes with underfloor heating or radiators: ASHPs provide consistent, lower temperature heat, which works best with systems that spread heat evenly. It’s common to have to change some existing radiators within your home for the ASHP system.
Properties with space outdoors: You’ll need space for the external unit, ideally in a well-ventilated area. (Commonly under the kitchen window works well in lots of cases.)
Hot water cylinder: With an ASHP installation you will need to allow for a hot water cylinder, or an alternative option could be the SunAmp products if space is an issue. We can advise on these products during the design stages of your project.
